Location Helper App Reviews
Ive been waiting for something like this since Core Location was announced. Having a carputer, this is a wonderful addition for getting info based on where I am. (Just giddy with the possibilities!)
For this application to actually work, you have to leave it as a "helper" application running in the background. Id prefer it if this could just be a Scripting Addition plugin, but Im pretty sure those arent allowed on the App Store. Wish Apple would change their mind about this though.
I was looking for something to help me customize some of my Geeklets (little command-line scripts that run in GeekTool). Anyway, along comes Mr. Blishen and boom! Instant geo-location awareness easily integrated with AppleScript, which worked perfectly for changing where on my screen certain Geeklets showed up depending on if I was running docked to a large monitor or standalone. Location Helpers well-thought out use cases helped me get everthing up and running within minutes. Thank you very much!
I am relatively new to applescript, but I was able to figure out (and use) this app to create a location based file opening script. Everything worked as it should and the example page on the developer site was very useful. For anyone looking to create location based events in applescript, this is a great tool. I definitely look foward to using it again.
Perfect! THANK YOU FOR WRITING THIS.
Perfect. Does exactly what I need it to. Nuff said.
Please Update
It worked awesome before I upgraded to OS X Yosemite. Please update!
Works awesome!
Love using this with the TextExpandor script!
AppleScript shouldve offered this natively, but this service provides a really complete and versatile dictionary. It could use a little more documentation in each verb, parameters, etc, but it didnt take long to try a few things to see what form you need to provide for direct objects and such.
No Longer Works
Recently, Location Helper is throwing an error message when you try to access it through an AppleScript. In a review I posted several days ago I pasted in that message, but the review was rejected. Too bad. This was a useful tool.
So versatile and easy

Copied and pasted from my review for this developer's JSON Helper application
